Take MILK THISTLE on a daily basis, it has worked wonders for me for years.
The only time i may get it now is if i go silly occasionally on the booze at a weekend, but i'm talking about gaps of a couple of years at a time, and i used to get it really bad!!

Johny and Mark: There is more than one doctor in this world. Please get a second, and possibly even a third and fourth opinion/diagnosis/treatment, if you are still having this gout problem. Cherry concentrate (or any form of cherries), is really good for easing gout. Plus, look into apple cider vinegar and honey. Bananas. Lemon or lime in water helps too. But, most of all, see another doctor, and keep searching until you get the right doctor that takes care of his/her patient's needs. You should not have to suffer 3 to 5 months at a time on these gout attacks. Don't be afraid to stay on your doctors for help! Best of luck to you both.

Like Johny I too have been suffering for the last 4-5 months. I have been drinking allupurinol every morning with lots of water. I still have to drink a combination of 7 pills to get rid of the pain everyday. This promotes continued runs to the toilet. I'm eating carefully, but nothing helps. I tied of these tabs and wish I could bring the 7 tabs down to at least one per day or something I could drink once a week. At this point I'll try anything.

I have a friend who is close to having Gout - he has the beginning signs - like slight pain in large toe, is somewhat over weight, and eats all the wrong things. I just need to know the "name brand" of a cereal and bread that he can eat?
Thanks

My diet consists of cereal in a morning salad at lunch then usually a chicken dinner in the evening. I eat a lot of chicken. Is it good for gout?

I had numerous request from people suffering from gout about Lopino, the fresh protein derived from lupin beans. People in Europe had the benefit of Lopino for more than 15 years. Lopino is a plant based high-quality protein that is unsurpassed in digestion and produces no purine and therefore NO uric acid.
People suffering from gout are helped by including Lopino in their diet. Lopino products will be available in stores later this year.
